Holiday talk homework for Foundation one.

By Mrs C Kingsman17th February 2016

Foundation 1 have achieved some excellent learning last half term through our Journeys project. From making clay pigs and wolves during The Three Little Pigs weeks to recreating the scenes from We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to role play the story.

Next half term we will move on to our project Ears, Tails and Whiskers. We start this project with the story Walking Through the Jungle by Julie Lacome.

At home you could talk to your children about which animals live in the jungle. What do they sound like? Can they describe the animals? Find out a little about what the animals eat…

Lastly, please bring in a picture, or a souvenir, of one activity your child did in the holidays to share with the group on the first day back (22nd Feb).

Enjoy the rest of the half term break!

Mrs Kingsman, Mrs Penton and Miss Redshaw

Caldecotte Trip First Day Back!

By D Gray12th February 2016

Your children should have brought home a letter regarding the Caldecotte Trip on Monday 22nd February for their new project ‘Extreme Survival.’

This trip is in school hours so drop off and pick up is at the normal times.

As this is an outdoor trip, children should be dressed in clothes they don’t mind getting muddy, wellies or boots and warm, waterproof coats.

They should be provided with a packed lunch in a named, disposable bag.

Parent helpers

If you are able to help, could you please email danielgray@brooklandsfarm.milton-keynes.sch.uk with your mobile number and I’ll get back to you to confirm.

Year 5 and 6 parent workshops

By 11th February 2016

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Year 5 and 6 workshops tonight. We know it was a lot of information to take in all at once but hopefully you have improved your understanding of how we teach Maths, Reading, Writing, Spellings and times tables in school and have some more ideas of how you can help in some of these areas at home.

Powerpoints, resources and handouts will be posted on the website soon.
