Finding Half

By Mrs S Taylor23rd March 2016

Yesterday we spent the morning investigating halving!

We talked about how when we halve we split into ‘two equal groups’ or ‘two equal parts’.

We carried out lots of different activities including chalking shapes outside, measuring different water containers, finding different ways to shade half and creating garden patterns which have ben split in half!

It was fantastic to see the children so engaged in their learning and we saw lots of learning zones 4 and 5!

Here we are investigating:

Year 2 Assessment Meeting

By Mrs S Taylor23rd March 2016
Thank you to all the parents who attend our Year 2 assessment workshops. It was great to see so many of you there and we hope the sessions provided you with lots of useful information.
Below is the presentation we talked through at both sessions. If you were unable to attend please do not hesitate to speak to your class teacher and ask any questions regarding the upcoming assessments.
We are looking to put together a number of resources requested during the meetings and hope to have these available for your after the Easter break.
Thank you again for all of your support in the lead up and during these assessments.

High learning zones

By 23rd March 2016

As we were using all the knowledge we have learnt to to write our Victorian diaries, I couldn’t resist taking pictures children working in their trios. Their learning zones were fantastic, lots of 4’s and 5’s.

Once we have finished writing our diaries, we will upload some excellent examples.

Keep it up 3A! The levels of balance I am seeing are incredible.  image harry

Meeting ‘baby’ and Sports Relief activities

By Mrs C Kingsman18th March 2016

This week children in Foundation 1 continued their learning by exploring in our pet shop role play area. They also met Baby, Mrs Kingsman’s pet guniea pig, and enjoyed feeding her carrots, green peppers and apples from her snack box.

We finished the week by taking part in the school sports relief activities and managed to get 83 points! That was one point for each circuit of the playground they completed.

Thank you all for the donations made to sports relief. Please see the bulletin for the grand total.

Next week we will be reading Little Rabbit Foo Foo and we will also be doing some Easter activities before we finish for the Easter break on Wednesday.
