6C’s First lead learner and new learning environment

11th July 2014Mrs c Hern

This week the children in 6c have been busy designing their learning environment. Their ideas have been amazing! We have changed the whole classroom around and redesigned the working walls using their ideas.

Today, Raian had his first experience at leading learning in the comfy guided area. This was fantastic to watch!

Super Number Bonds!

10th July 2014Mrs S Taylor

This week in maths we have been learning our number bonds to 10 and 20. The children have been practicing their mathematical reasoning using these three key questions to help them:

What do you notice?

What is the same?

What is different?

Here is a picture of the numicon number bonds we created for our working wall.

WW number bonds to 10

We used bead strings to find our number bonds to 20. We looked for number patterns and found a logical way of finding all the possibilities.

We matched up addition and subtraction sentences and found our own groups of number sentences.
