This week we have been busy exploring our senses. We have taken a closer look at our own eyes and tried to draw them in detail, matched a variety of smells to their picture cards, measured our hands, felt a range of materials and explored our taste buds!
Many thanks to all of our parents that came to share how we learn at Brooklands Farm. It’s wonderful to know how involved you all are in your child’s learning and I feel privileged to be working with you in partnership to achieve this goal. The children had a great time catering for you all and we hope you enjoyed the sandwiches and cakes!
Here are some websites you can use to practise your phonics learning at home:
(Obb and Bob and Burried Treasure are great games to help prepare for the phonics screening)

(Remember to turn on the speakers to play foam phonemes and sound buttons. If you click on the sound it will say it for you!)

(A fun game you can play at home!)
Congratulations to Kaiden who achieved his Gold Pin today.
Kaiden enjoyed sharing his achievement with his Mum and Grandparents.
Thank you for coming to share Kaiden’s success this morning!
🙂
I’m sure there will be many more pins handed out in the next few weeks. Keep using those Determined muscles Year 1!
Thank you very much to all the parents who attended our curriculum tea on Wednesday.
We had 100% attendance from all the parents which is fantastic! It’s great that we can work in partnership together!
The children had a great day cooking flapjack, rock cakes, fairy cakes and making sandwiches to share with the parents.
🙂
Thank you to all those who came to the Curriculum Tea on Tuesday evening.
The children had a fantastic afternoon baking cakes and preparing sandwiches for you all and we hope you enjoyed them!
Once again, thank you for your support.

A massive thank you to you all for attending 5c’s curriculum tea on Wednesday 8th October. It was great to see you all and connect with you all again. I hope you found the presentation informative. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Don’t forget to look at the curriculum tea booklet which is on the website under year 5 curriculum.
The children worked hard to prepare the food you enjoyed at the tea. Here are some pictures of them during the process…
We hope you all enjoyed the tea!

Thank you to everybody who came to our curriculum tea on Monday. It was great to see so many of you! The children spent the day baking fairy cakes, rock cakes, making flap jacks and sandwiches which they thoroughly enjoyed! Oscar said it was just like ‘The Great British Bake Off’!
