Behaviour Chart

By Mrs J Gowen23rd October 2015
In nursery we use a behaviour chart that mirrors the rest of the school but we make it a lot more visual for the children to understand. The children move up and down the chart quickly as we want to reinforce what expected behaviour is in a positive way.
Every day the children start on the sunshine. They are then either moved up to the rainbow or to the highest point, the star for behaviour such as kind hands, listening to instruction, good learning.
The children can also be moved down to our thinking cloud which is for time to think about what they did or the rain cloud when the behaviour continues. Behaviour such as: Not listening to instruction, hurting their friends, not using the nursery equipment safely and respectfully.
Below is a photo of the chart so you are familiar with the language that we use and you may find that your children have already started telling you they are on the rainbow or star!
It would be wonderful if we can all work together and use the same language. I hope this helps with the understanding of what procedures we use for behaviour in nursery.

Staying Active!

By Mrs S Taylor22nd October 2015

As I walked past the hall today I spotted some amazing PE skills from Year 2.

They were practising jumping and landing safely and then went on to adding half turns to their jumps! It was great to see them enjoying PE so much with Mr Goodman and I managed to snap a few action shots on the way!

Sharing Our Learning!

By V Holloway22nd October 2015

Thank you so much to all the parents who came to look at our All About Me books today! It was so lovely to see you all and the children absolutely loved sharing their learning with you.

Today we spent time revisiting the learning about our senses! We used all of our 5 senses to explore different foods. We then thought of WOW words to help us describe the taste, smell, feel and sound of different foods!

We are looking forward to starting our new project- The Great Fire of London- after half term!

All about me!

By c pinder22nd October 2015

Year one have been busy learning all about themselves this half term. We have enjoyed exploring our senses, learning about ourselves and others, along with our likes and dislikes. This also linked in with our target cards, earning our ticks for taking turns, sharing and showing good listening skills.

Thank you to all of the parents who came in to share their child’s learning this morning, the children were so excited to show you what they have achieved so far.

We have been connecting our maths learning this week with some very tricky problems. We have been able to communicate our ideas and build our relationships to achieve some very high standards in addition and subtraction.
