We are seeing a huge response to the new Accelerated reader in upper KS2. The children are loving the quizzes and we have seen loads of children getting 100% on their quizzes.

This week we have been looking at our favourite Autumn festivals, fruit and vegetables. In Maths, we have been creating tally charts. We asked each other questions and found out that most of us like Bonfire Night and apples are our favourite fruit.

Well done to Rebecca who has received her determined pin today. We are all so proud of you. We also bid farewell to Rebecca as she moves school. We have thoroughly enjoyed having you as a member of 1a – good luck for the future!
This week we have been putting together little books about ourselves. We have written about: the country and continent we live in; our eye colour; our favourite taste; and much more.
We look forward to welcoming you in to our classrooms on Thursday for a show and tell.
Today we created our own ending to “We’re going on a bear hunt!” We imagined that in the dark, gloomy cave there lived a wolf. We worked together to describe our wolf: “One cold, wet nose. Two big, googly eyes. Sharp, pointy teeth.”.
Towards the end of the week we will be going on our own hunt around the school. What might we find?
I had the opportunity to work with some wonderful children today supporting writing.
The children created, constructed and reordered bossy sentences. They then worked together to improve their spelling and composition.
I am so proud of their work!

Dear Parents,
Thank you for coming to the curriculum tea this evening. We look forward to seeing the rest of you on Thursday. Here is a copy of the end of year expectations that we talked about.
It was lovely to be able to award the newest member of the 6a team her Open, Grow, Believe badge. Congratulations! I’m so glad that your Mum and Miss Langford could join us in the celebration assembly.
I’m looking forward to awarding some Strong and Powerful badges after half term. Â There are quite a few so I’m more than happy to award them throughout the first week back so that no one has to wait too long. Please contact me directly to organise what morning you would like to come in. It will be each morning 8:40-8:55.
