We have really enjoyed making our den in the garden today. We built a shelter from the rain.
Starfish class loved hearing about Harry’s weekend adventures!
I wonder who will be taking him home over the holidays??
Today 1e spent a whole day working on their All About Me books. This is the create and communicate part of our project, where use all the information we have learnt about ourselves over the last few weeks and share it! Here are some photos of us achieving high learning zones and being very determined as we work on our books:
We are really pleased to announce that we will be working in partnership with MK gallery to present Start the Art: Out & About, kindly funded by the MK Community Foundation.
Building upon MK Gallery’s successful weekly Start the Art parent and toddlers sessions MK gallery and Brooklands will bring together new communities within our area of Milton Keynes to explore the joys of art through a range of multisensory activities, including painting, drawing and mark-making for children 0-5. These sessions will take place at the new Countess Way campus, from 10-11 every Monday in term time until the end of February. Each session will cost £1 to help with the cost of materials.
Please spread the word and join us and other parents in the community to enjoy and explore creativity in a friendly environment.
As part of our partnership we are lucky enough to continue the programme on a Monday afternoon with our early years and Art specialist Miss Broome who will be working with all children from foundation to enjoy and explore multi-sensory materials and mark making. These sessions will take place in school time and there will be no charge.

It was a very exciting morning in 1e as Sasha Rae received her Open, Grow, Believe gold pin! She has opened her heart to others by building strong reciprocal relationships, she is always growing her learning and believes in herself and others.
Congratulations Sasha Rae! We are all very proud of you and enjoyed celebrating with you and your family.
Congratulations to Malin who received her determined pin on Friday. It was lovely to share your achievement with your parents. 1a are proud of you!
This week we have been looking at our senses: sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. We particularly enjoyed learning about taste. We learnt that lemons are sour, dark chocolate is bitter, crisps are salty and sweets are sweet (although sometimes they can be sour too!). We taste with our tongues – did you know that we are born with about 10,000 taste buds?
As a homework task, children were asked to learn a poem and practise it.
This group of children got into a group themselves and choreographed the poem without any adult help! They used fantastic expression and made it very amusing! Well done.
