Scruffy Bear and the Six White Mice

By 29th February 2016

This week we have been learning the story “Scruffy Bear and the Six White Mice” by Chris Wormell. We have been using pictures and actions to commit the text to memory! We even acted out the events.

Tomorrow we will magpie all the exciting WOW words and collect these for our working wall. We will then use these in our own stories. We look forward to sharing our stories with you soon.

Year 1 – inspired by book characters…

By J Francis29th February 2016

Year 1 looked amazing today dressed up as their favourite book characters!

We are taking inspiration from our favourite books to re-design the Year 1 reading area and create a fantastic reading space where everyone will want to come and snuggle down to enjoy a book…or two!

We would be extremely grateful if anyone would like to donate materials for our book corner such as blankets, cushions, drapes, bean bags, battery powered fairy lights, chimes…so that we can make the space as peaceful and inviting as possible.

Thank you for your support!

Growing, growing, growing!

By l hearn29th February 2016

In Year 2 our current project is Master Chef. This project looks at how food is made and where the ingredients come from. First we look at plants and what they need to grow.  Today we got to do our learning outside as we set up our class experiments to test whether plants actually need water,  soil and light. After that,  we got to plant our own sunflowers! Here are some pictures of our outdoor learning…

Police come to visit!

By 29th February 2016

The police came to visit to tell us how important 999 calls are and the dangers of prank calls. They also discussed graffiti and the importance of looking after the environment. The children listened very carefully.

Our trip to Woburn Safari Park

By a mason29th February 2016

We had a great time last Wednesday learning about the different animals at the Safari Park. We met Becky our guide who told us all about the animals that live there. The monkeys jumped on our coach too, which was very funny! Some of us stroked a snake and we all enjoyed meeting the elephants. Thank you to all our parent helpers for your help during the trip, we had a great day!
