Year 5 and 6 performance

We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the year 5 and 6 performance. We wanted to let you know that all children will be performing on stage for 1 song each however they will be standing and singing along the sides of the stage for the other 5 songs. Please discuss with your child where is best for you to sit to ensure you can see them. We will put labels on each section on the sides of the stage to help you.

The songs we are singing are:

Feed the world (dance)

Sing (Makaton)

I love my life – All singing together

1A are determined!

Over the past two weeks, lot’s of children have been awarded their determined pins. We have had lot’s of discussions about what a Year 1 child looks like and what we should or shouldn’t be doing. These children who have been awarded their determined pins are our role models. Miss White can’t wait to see who is going to be the next child to get their determined pin!

Journey project

1c have been learning A.A. Milne’s poem, “When I am six”. We learnt the poem by heart, using actions to help us. We’ve now innovated our poem as a class – come in and see what we have come up with!

Next week we will be creating our own poems – can you have a think at home? What did you do when you were one, two, three, four and five; and what will you do now/when you are six?

A creative week!

This week, we began our Journey Project, where we have been reflecting on the children’s personal transitions into Year One. We discussed how much has changed and how they have grown, along with how our ethos and values have still remained the same. Our task was to decorate our classroom willow tree, the children wanted to represent their journey through our ‘Open, Grow, Believe’ ethos and created heart, star and medal shapes to hang from our tree.

 

We have also been very busy rehearsing for our ‘Every Child’ performance next week. The children have enjoyed learning songs, dances and creating special props.
