We’ve done some great practical science all about the digestive system. The children were able to see food being mashed up with saliva and begin its journey through the body! The children asked some brilliant questions and really deepened their understanding about how the body works.
Here are year 2 practising for our lantern festival later today!
Due to the lantern festival, most children don’t have book bags so homework is going to be given out on Monday. There is an extension so homework isn’t due in until Friday 27th November.

It has been brilliant to see children who have arrived to Brooklands Farm since September, receive their Open, Grow, Believe pin. This shows that the children are understanding and taking on board the school ethos. Thank you also to the parents who came in to share in the celebration, it’s so important for children to see us working together and celebrating their achievements together.

Year 3 and 4 were awarded the trophy for achieving the highest attendance last week at Countess Way! We achieved 99% which is fantastic!
Here are a few of our children representing the whole class’s achievement.

As a homework task, children were asked to learn a poem and practise it.
This group of children got into a group themselves and choreographed the poem without any adult help! They used fantastic expression and made it very amusing! Well done.
There was a slight mix up with some of the homework groups, but it will be rectified for next week. Please accept my apologies.
The following links to the homework should work now.
Not worrying about being a day late, year 3 and 4 have become fantastic poets today, to celebrate National Poetry Day! We explored and wrote our own nonsense poems, found out about Kenning poems and even shared some poetry with other year groups in the school!
I’m especially proud of the children who reviewed and improved their work multiple times to achieve a quality final piece.
