Well done Year 3! Today’s Ancient Greek ignite day was a huge success. Many thanks to Craig from History Off The Page for coming in to help us experience some aspects of Greek life!
Please find the homework for this week, which has gone out across the school.
Have a wonderful weekend!
At Brooklands Farm we believe that learning isn’t just about sitting at a desk. We believe that children learn in different ways and in different places. So as a team, partnered with the children, we have set about creating a learning environment where children can thrive.
Here are the children busy at work. The finalised learning spaces will be unveiled next week!
We had the privelege of having Stuart Myers in to talk to Year 3, 4 and 5 this week.
Stuart was born with no arms but this has not stopped him living a normal life. The children heard how he is married with children, he dresses himself and he can even drive!
Stuart’s message was a fantastic link to our Inspiration and Aspiration project, in that if you give things a go and believe in yourself then you will achieve.
Please find the homework for Year 3 below. Please could your child complete it and return it on Wednesday 14th September.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
The Year 3 Team
Welcome back year 3. I’ve been so impressed with the learning zones today and I’m looking forward to working with all of you this year! Keep up the good work.
Mr. Gray
This week, we were looking at the life and work of Nelson Mandela.
I’ve been very impressed with all the learning that has taken place and here are a few gems I have selected.
Here is some work from Nathan, who worked incredibly hard to review and improve his work!
A poem written and typed by Oscar:
The incredible, awesome Nelson Mandela
You were born in 1918.
You died in 2013.
You went to prison in 1962 and came out in 1989.
Nelson wasn’t your original name, it was given to you by your teacher.
You fought for the Aparteid to stop.
You became the world’s famous prisoner!
You were the world’s first ever black South African president.
You began to help with people’s problems!
Thank you Nelson Mandela

All of the year 3 team.
Part 1
Part 2
This week year 3D have shown some amazing settling in skills. I’ve been so impressed with the way that they have transitioned up into KS2 with such maturity.
We’ve been using our 5 for change to help support us. One of the 5 is to keep learning and we’ve certainly been doing a lot of that. In particular, we’ve been investigate magnets and the way they interact with materials and other magnets. The children came up with some fantastic questions and some very scientific explanations!
