A busy week in 2c!

8th March 2015Mrs S Taylor

We have had a great week with lots of great learning!

On Monday we worked in trios to make visual models to show odd and even numbers. We focused on being able to explain our model to the rest of the class and all the children showed a great understanding of odd and even.

One group made an odd and even pattern.

Another group explained how even numbers could be halved.

Mary Anning Information Report

10th February 2015Mrs S Taylor

As part of our independent writing this week we have written our own information reports on Mary Anning. The children have applied their knowledge of information reports from our literacy lessons and combined this with the information we have learnt about Mary Anning in history.

Here are Max and Lola’s fantastic examples!

Dinosaur Detectives

9th January 2015Mrs S Taylor

We had a fantastic trip to the Natural History Museum on Wednesday. In the morning we visited the Ichthyosaur and Plesiosaur fossils discovered by Mary Anning and met the newly discovered Stegosaurus called Sophie! After lunch we spent most of our time looking around the dinosaur exhibition. We saw lots of fossils, models, pictures and information but the most spectacular was the moving T-Rex.

We had a great time and the children learnt lots of information ready for the rest of our project.

Year 2 start division!

17th November 2014Mrs S Taylor

Today we started our new maths journey for the week. The children have begun to look at division by sharing between people and dividing into equal groups. We made a fantastic start and I can’t wait to see how the children continue to grow their understanding.

We worked as a team to solve problems and use our success criteria.

Here we are working independently.

Here we are about to green & gold our fantastic learning from today’s lesson.
