Today, 1b watched a short film called ‘Bubbles’. It inspired us to add a twist to the story and write our own versions. Here are the children creating their characters, right before they wrote the beginning of their own stories. We are very excited to write the middle and end tomorrow!
Year One have been having so much fun practising their ‘Walking with Giants’ dance routine. If anyone wishes to have a go at home, the song is ‘I like to move it move it’!

As part of our ‘Under the Sea’ project, today we have been linking our project to art. Check out our fishes painted with water paints and cool patterns using chunky felt tips!
This morning, 1b have been very busy creating their octopus characters, which will be used this afternoon to innovate the story of The Rainbow Fish and The Big Blue Whale. The children have already thought of the amazing wow words (adjectives) that will be used in their writing to create an image in the readers mind. Watch this space!
Year One had such fun learning about different sea creatures at the Sea Life Centre. Thank you to all of the parents who came along for the trip!
Take a look at the fun we had today at Rushmere. We spotted Herons, looked at bird eggs and played games in the forest.
