This week we have been busy exploring our senses. We have taken a closer look at our own eyes and tried to draw them in detail, matched a variety of smells to their picture cards, measured our hands, felt a range of materials and explored our taste buds!
Year 1 enjoyed a sunny afternoon walk around the local area as part of their project ‘All About Me’.
The children enjoyed looking at all the local features. They saw lots of dragonflies flying over the brook and builders driving their diggers.
Year 1 enjoyed spending time together as a year group at the park running through the tunnels and playing in the sand.
Once back in school the children mapped out their walk using maps of the local area.
The year 1 team would like to thank all the parent helpers who came along.

We have shown great determination this week! W e are learning to check each other’s well being and we have set some expectations for our learning environment in year 1.
