Year 1 have had a great afternoon building gliders (bought from our trip to Shuttleworth), paper aeroplanes and kites. We have been flying them on our playground. Miss Campbell spent her last afternoon running the kite repair shop!

Year 1 have had an amazing time at Shuttleworth learning all about aeroplanes!
We learnt about the materials used to build the planes and we were shocked that most of the old planes were made using fabric.
All of the planes (except 3) in the collection are regularly flown by the pilots. They must be very brave!
Miss Jenkins has gone and done it again! We loved the ‘Open, Grow, Believe’ song so much she’s written another fabulous song for us to sing, this one to remind us to use our finger spaces in our writing.
Yet another creation from Miss Jenkins. This fantastic song will help us remember to use our capital letters when writing.
Year 1 had a great time this morning playing in the snow
We experimented with the snow to see how long it would take to melt.
Year 1 are really enjoying learning about the Great Fire of London.
We have enjoyed sharing our home learning projects with each other and had a great ignite day to start the learning for our next project.
Year 1 really enjoyed sharing breakfast and their songs with their parents this morning.
The Year 1 teachers are very proud of their amazing singing and actions!
Thank you parents for your support 🙂
Year 1 enjoyed eating their Christmas lunch!
The children are really enjoying their growing project.
After our allotment trip we came back to school and made vegetable soup using the vegetables we picked.
Today we started growing our own cress. We are excited about watching it grow!
We made instructions as a class and then followed them to plant our cress. Now we need to remember to water them each morning!
