We loved reading the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Year 1c have changed their PE days.
Our new days are Wednesday and Friday.
Children are encouraged to keep their PE kits in school so they have them for every lesson.
Please make sure they have warm jumpers/bottoms as they will be doing some of their lessons outside.
The children are becoming more independent and responsible for their own PE kits so thank you for your continuing support with this ๐
Year 1 had a great time today on their walk to the allotments.
They looked at the different types of vegetables that grow there. They also had the chance to look around a greenhouse and pick some salad leaves. They also were able to pick some vegetables to bring back to school.
The children are all inspired to grow vegetables and we are going to have a go at planting our own and watching them grow at school.
This half term year 1c have been working with Miss Wendy to create a dance all about toys and games. The dance includes a range of toys/games including dolls, cars and snakes and ladders.
The children are very proud of the dance and enjoyed performing it!
Well done for your hard work!!
Remember Year 1 parents that our classrooms will be open on Thursday straight after school (3:30-4pm) and again on Friday morning (8:30-9:00) for you to come in and see the children’s learning.
The children have all been using their ‘determined’ muscles today to make books all about themselves. We will be carrying on with these books ready to share them with you.
Many thanks
The Year 1 Team ๐
Year 1c have really enjoyed learning more about cars this week.
We had the chance to look around lots of VW cars that were brought onto the playground for the day. What an amazing opportunity!
The children enjoyed pretending to drive the cars, investigating how big the boot of the cars were and even had the chance to go into the ‘roof’ of a camper van to pretend to sleep in the bed!
Mrs Hover enjoyed driving one of the vans back of the playground ready to put it back onto the car transporter!
We have been learning about our senses.
Today we focused on taste. We tried eating salty crisps, bitter chocolate, sweet sweeties and sour lemons!
Here are some pictures of us eating the lemons! We couldn’t help pulling funny faces!
Congratulations to Kaiden who achieved his Gold Pin today.
Kaiden enjoyed sharing his achievement with his Mum and Grandparents.
Thank you for coming to share Kaiden’s success this morning!
๐
I’m sure there will be many more pins handed out in the next few weeks. Keep using those Determined muscles Year 1!
Thank you very much to all the parents who attended our curriculum tea on Wednesday.
We had 100% attendance from all the parents which is fantastic! It’s great that we can work in partnership together!
The children had a great day cooking flapjack, rock cakes, fairy cakes and making sandwiches to share with the parents.
