Happy New Year and welcome back to a new term 2D!
We had some calm learners and high learning zones. We spent our afternoon looking at nocturnal animals and making clay Owls to help ignite our learning!
Looking forward to working hard with you again this term.
Year 2D are attendance trophy winners this week because we just love coming to school! Second week running too!

What a brilliant Lantern Festival enjoyed by all on Friday evening! We are so proud of all the children from Countess Way making the journey quickly and safely to Fenn Street for rehearsals and the parade! We hope everyone enjoyed the parade including the fireworks!
Today we had a great time learning all about chocolate and igniting our learning!
We learnt which climate the cocoa tree is best suited to and how farmers grow, prepare and send chocolate around the world. We then met a chocolatier who helped us design and create our own chocolate. We also got to try chocolate in different forms. We’ve learnt so much and had great fun! Yum!

Then we thought about a shape we liked and decorated it with different styles.
We got to smell and taste chocolate in its different forms from bean to bar.
Not everyone liked dark chocolate!
We love chocolate!
This week we have been busy creating our very own chocolate factory with the help of Miss Broome. We now look forward to ‘inventing’ our own chocolate in our ignite tomorrow! 
2D are busy preparing for the lantern festival! We cannot wait to show everyone what we have learnt!
We are super proud of Alex receiving his pin today! He has done lots to show that he is a calm learner and has been working more independently!
