Children are practising their name writing regularly and becoming proud of their achievements!
Keep up practising your name writing.
Next steps: Can you write? I am (name).
The children continued working out problems with one less 0-20. They enjoyed drawing different amounts of rockets, planets and aliens etc on the white boards and wiping off one to get the answer. They learnt that ‘less’is the same as ‘take away’
We have a ‘take away’ action and they are beginning to recognise the take away sign.
Well done Mathematicians! 🚀🚀
The children were really involved in the big Art session created by Miss. Broome this week. They experienced different ways to construct using shapes. They constructed houses and tested out their shape knowledge.
Amelia Webb and Paul Ten Brink have achieved the pin this week. As they are:
- always so polite
- have good well-being and involvement levels
- follow the golden rules
- never forget their gotcha smiles ! 😀
We have just finished phase 2 phonics and are beginning to learn phase 3 phonemes.
Have a look at this video that helps you understand how to pronounce each phoneme.
Here are the Jolly phonics songs that may also help your children.
This week we have been looking at one less using aliens. Our favourite song to sing this week has been:
“5 little men in a flying saucer flew round the world one day.
He looked left and right but he didn’t like the sight,
so one man flew away… whoosh!
4 little men in a flying saucer flew round the world one day.
He looked left and right but he didn’t like the sight,
so one man flew away… whoosh!
3 little men in a flying saucer flew round the world one day.
He looked left and right but he didn’t like the sight,
so one man flew away… whoosh!
2 little men in a flying saucer flew round the world one day.
He looked left and right but he didn’t like the sight,
so one man flew away… whoosh!
1 little men in a flying saucer flew round the world one day.
He looked up and down and he saw a little town,
so he decided to stay… whoosh!”
