Busy Brains!

We have been very busy learning about what our brain looks like and what it does.

 

The children have been using their growth mindsets to persist and review their learning.

Have a look at our brain pictures. We used splats of paint to represent the electrical connections that happen in our brains when we learn.

 

We have also been writing facts about the brain:

Is the brain cold? What do you think?
Can you check this fact at home?

Shape Hunt

The best way learn about shapes is to go on a hunt for them!
We went looking around the school grounds for any 2D or 3D shapes that we could find.
We found a circle:
a square;
Some cones:
Some cylinders:
a sphere;
and a cuboid;

Traffic Survey

We took a traffic survey outside our school. It was fascinating to see the different types of transport that go past our school from cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles, buses to police cars! We used this opportunity to practise counting in 5s.

Sharing picnic!

We have been looking at sharing in Foundation this week. It is amazing what fun you can have with some dried pasta and some plates!

We even had our own banquet, pretending that different coloured cubes were different foods. We really had to use our problem solving skills to make sure that we were sharing out equally.
