Year 1 at Fen Street need your recycling!

By 22nd November 2015

The Year 1 children at Fen Street will be focusing on materials over the next two weeks as part of their project ‘Through The Key Hole’.

The children will be conducting lots of scientific experiments to find out which materials are windproof and waterproof in order to build their very own street  of houses.

The Year 1 team are collecting as much junk modelling as possible to help the children build their spectacular creations!

If you have any cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, bubble wrap and recycling materials you wish to dispose of PLEASE bring them into school and drop them off at the Year 1 entrance where there will be a box for you to put your donated materials in.

Thank you for your support.

Year 1 Team

Choir rehearsals

By Mrs L Odell19th November 2015

Choir rehearsals are now running again on Thursday lunchtimes in Mrs Odell’s classroom at 12 o’ clock.

Please support the school choir by reminding your children to attend if they are a member! We are currently working towards public performances and need to ensure all the members are performance ready!

The choir is aimed at children in Year 2 and above although keen singers in Year 1 are also welcome.

We are currently practising for the Broughton and Brooklands Community Carol Service which will be held at the grounds of Broughton Pavilion on Friday 11th December at 6.30pm. It will last approximately 45 minutes followed by mince pies!

Letters with further details about this event will be sent out in due course.

Anti-Bullying Week Newsround tonight!

By 19th November 2015

We have been doing work on Anti-Bullying this week and Newsround tonight are having a debate on the issue. If you are at home with your children tonight and you are free it would be great if they could watch it to support the learning we are doing at school. It’s on at 5:30pm.

Thank you

Year 6 Football

By 19th November 2015

Last night I braved the windy weather and went to watch the Year 6 football at Tattenhoe.

The boys certainly did us proud drawing in the first game and winning the second 5-1!

It was fantastic to see the team working together and showing off their skills.

Well done Brooklands Farm!

Poignant Poem…by Oscar in Year 2

By admin13th November 2015
When Mr Morrison showed me this Remembrance day poem, I couldn’t believe it was written by a Year 2 child! The words are remarkably poignant, and show a great deal of maturity. We are all incredibly proud of Oscar for producing such a respectful and touching poem. Well done Oscar!
