After our re-drafting assembly with Matt on Wednesday, we realised the importance of listening to our client and allowing them to review our designs. Therefore we met with Foundation (our clients) to share our designs and to listen to their feedback. They told us the things they liked and disliked about our designs. We are now using this feedback to redraft before meeting them again to share our final designs.
We have started building models of our designs. We have been thinking about the best materials to use, how to make our models 3d and how to create models that match our design drawings.
There has been brilliant teamwork, listening and sharing in our classroom!
To support the design layouts, 5c have created mood boards in their design groups. We looked at the mood boards created for the new Brooklands Farm school to create a success criteria. We chose the materials and colours we want to use in our areas, and have also included pictures of example furniture and equipment.
Our next step is to share our designs and mood boards with Foundation to gather their feedback. We will then redraft our designs based on their evaluation!
Brooklands Farm Friends will be meeting on Thursday 18th June @ 7:30pm to plan End of Term Disco. Please contact Sam Vernon at samantha.vernon@sky.com for details.
We met up with our clients yesterday. We shared the designs we have made so far. We collected feedback from the client so we know what needs to be changed in our next design. The two year groups worked brilliantly together sharing their learning and giving feedback.
We also had an assembly with Matt from the building company. He taught us more about how to redraft our designs.
Year 6 have been reunited today after the residential trip to New Barn in Dorset. We had an absolutely fantastic time and wish we could do it all over again!
It is lovely to be all back together though and the children have enjoyed thinking about how we ‘belong’ with our Brooklands community and the ‘UN Rights of the Child’. We are going to apply this thinking into a piece of persuasion where we advertise other people to join our Brooklands Farm family!
This afternoon, Matt, the project manager of the new building came in to tell us all about the different design stages of a new building. We are looking forward to applying this learning later in our building project!
Yesterday, the children had a lovely day searching for fossils, eating lunch on the beach and paddling in the sea!
The BBQ in the evening was delicious and the shindig was fantastic.
Today, the children are on their way to Corfe castle to visit the ruin. They’ll be eating lunch in the sunshine and visiting the old fashioned sweet shop before heading home.
The coach will be leaving Corfe castle at approximately 1pm. Hopefully the traffic will be clear and the coach should arrive back at school between 4pm and 4:30pm.
We will try and keep you posted with possible delays via text.
