Foundation have been innovating the story ‘We’re Going On a Bear Hunt’ so that we are going on a hunt for a different animal. Ladybird class have been hunting for sharks this week. We had a lot of fun role-playing the story together.
Off of the boats into the deep, cold ocean…
Through the small, prickly school of fish…
Through the slimy, spikey seaweed…
Past the scary, blue octopus on the rocks…
Into the big, dark shipwreck…
IT’S A SHARK!!!
There has been some spectacular weather this week and we have had a fantastic time observing what we can see and asking questions. We saw a rainbow outside on Thursday and were so excited to look at the colours, talk about how rainbows are made, sing songs that we know about rainbows and even draw pictures of our own rainbows. Have a look!
Today year 5 became scientists as they used their many skills, including being observant, resilient, resourceful, organised and teamwork, to work out how to separate different mixtures and solutions. After a lot of trial and error, they applied their prior knowledge to use the process of sieving, evaporating and filtering to separate the materials.
A lot of learning took place today with all the children growing in their knowledge and understanding as well as their scientific inquiry skills! Well done year 5!
