2c had a fantastic exercise session this morning with James Ayres! It was a great way to stay active during our transition and we particularly enjoyed the team races!
We are looking forward to next week already!

Well done to Class 2A who are doing a great job at coping with change from Year 1 into Year 2.
Many thanks to those of you who attended our welcome picnic. It was great to meet so many parents!
We have had a busy start to Year 2! Please keep checking our website to keep up with our learning journey!
The teachers at Brooklands Farm have been working hard over the past few weeks to plan and design what our school curriculum will look like in September to coincide with the change of national curriculum.
We have created innovative project plans for each year group, focusing on being fun, creative, inspirational and educational.
Of course, the best judges for these plans are the children so we hosted our own version of ‘The Voice’!
The children were asked to give feedback about our project proposals in order to gain their opinions and improve our projects, tailoring them specifically to the children’s interests.

This is a video of what we all learnt:
The sun was shining brightly over Brooklands Farm this afternoon. We spent the afternoon on a camouflage hunt! The children worked together in their learning trios to find camouflage for lots of different insects.
Can you spot the insects in the pictures below?
When looking for camouflage the children thought very carefully about the different colours and shapes of their insects.
Can you spot the worm in this photograph?
During our camouflage hunt we were lucky enough to find this lovely orange caterpillar who was hidden by his own camouflage on a log!

The Year 2s have had their first Boxercise session with James Ayres. What a great way to re-energise after a busy few days! They loved it and can’t wait for their next session!
We have had a great start in year 5!
Last week we made our class rules and created a ‘learners promise’ together! We also created our protective hands which are displayed in the classrooms.
In our classes we discussed the expectations of Year 5 learners and what it means to be individual. The children now have a clear understanding and are well on there way to earning their ‘individual’ badges.
We have started learning our upper key stage 2 songs ‘Gold’ and ‘Roar’ which the children are enjoying.
This week we are starting to write our own poems about The Journey of Brooklands Farm and have started their hand based art project.
