Year 6 enjoyed singing the World Cup song! Ole! Click on the link to watch our video.
Today the children took big steps in their maths learning! We have been looking at place value and children have been using the words ‘tens’ and ‘units’ to talk about numbers. We have been exploring numbers and using ‘maths talk’ to explain our reasoning.
We have used tens and units apparatus to build numbers:
We tried different number challenges and used ‘maths talk’ to explain what we found:
I am already looking forward to our next lesson tomorrow!
Today we have all been busy giving each other a helping hand in our learning and have been very determined to work together as a team.
This morning we have been learning about how to stay safe in and out of school and who we can turn to if our well-being is low. We created our protective hands and built a fantastic display for our classroom.
A problem shared is a problem halved so PASS it on!
We worked together to create our class promise and signed it to say we are going to be determined to open, grow and believe.
This afternoon we have been very determined in our maths learning and have been practising our counting! We opened our hearts and helped Sid our class puppet grow his learning and taught him how to count accurately to 50!
Another fantastic day. Keep up the good work!

Welcome to all the lovely children who have joined 3c! We have had an amazing time over the last few days getting to know each other and getting involved in lots of team building activities!
We have kicked off year 3 by learning a ‘Circle of Life’ poem all about the four season and have talked the text to ensure we know this poem off by heart with some handy actions 🙂
We have also been awarding special certificates to those children who demonstrate outstanding behaviour and are coping well with the changes here at Brooklands Farm. We have our first two children in 3c to achieve this, well done to Joshua and Dylan, keep up the great work!
Miss Kynaston
Today in Year 2 we made our class rules and created a ‘class promise’ together!
As a class we talked about the expectations of Year 2 learners and what we thought would be important in our classroom. The children came up with some fantastic ideas and could talk about the impact our class rules would have on our learning!
We decided our rules would help us Open, Grow and Believe so we wrote them onto hearts, stars and medals before decorating and signing our class promise.
It has been very exciting over the past few weeks in Foundation…. we discovered dinosaur eggs!
After looking after our eggs for a week, we came into school to find out that the eggs had hatched. We used our best investigation skills to find out what the dinosaur was that was creeping around our school.
What dinosaur do you think it is?
On Friday afternoon 1a shared a scrumptious picnic together. It was the perfect way to finish off our first afternoon together as a class.
It was a pleasure to meet all of the children’s parents. I would like to thank the parents for their generous contributions to the picnic. I am very much looking forward to working in partnership with you all over the next year!
Welcome to the year 1 family!

6c had their very first lesson together yesterday.
The children introduced themselves and talked about their learning styles.
Everyone then completed their protective hands. These will be made into a classroom display next week.
It was lovely to get to meet all of the children’s parents during the transition picnic, whilst eating lots of yummy treats!
I am very much looking forward to the year ahead 🙂
