5c have today started their design process. After a careful look at our client’s brief, we created our own project brief to make sure we were clear on our client’s requirements and priorities. We then split into two teams, one team was in charge of designing the layout of the space. Where would each area the client wanted go? Was it a good ideas to have a calm, relaxing area next to the noisy play area? They used a new app on the ipads to help them create this!
The other team were in charge of choosing a colour scheme, we used watercolours and paints to create different shades of colours. We worked as a team to choose the colours which we thought would look good together!
Our next step is to split into our area design teams, in small groups we will design a specific area with the allocated space and agreed colour scheme!
Also we were very lucky today to be visited by Kate and Simon who both work for Willmott Dixon. They spoke to us about the whole building process, from the design all the way to maintenance and client feedback. We learnt about the importance of listening to our clients and redrafting our designs!

Another busy half term over! Have a great break everyone as we have another busy half term planned when you’re back!

On Wednesday an artist came to school to help us make a piece of history for the school, which will last for years and remind us of our core values, Open, Grow and Believe.  Here are some sneak previews of the children’s amazing work…
Well done to these children for working hard to do lots of Maths learning at home!
Keep it up!
