Year 4 half term spelling homework

24th October 2014admin

Hi Year 4,

The year 4 spelling homework is below. It may be a puzzler but we believe that you can do it. You are becoming masters in the classroom at learning independently, especially if you have the tools of the internet, a dictionary and a thesaurus.

Derivations may seem tricky, it just means that it comes from the root word.

e.g. Tricycle derives from tri

Some of you have been doing amazingly well with your spellings, particularly those that have been practicing.

Reading at home questions

17th October 2014admin
Dear parents,

As we mentioned at the year 4 curriculum teas, the reading questions that you can use to help your child with their reading are below. These questions should be used after they have read and we would encourage the children to look back in the book to find evidence for their answer.

Please only use 3 questions at a time as the focus is also on the children’s ability to read fluently and with expression.
