After working in high learning zones this afternoon, 4D and 3/4F definitely needed a brain break! So we laced up our trainers and went outside to run or walk laps of the playground for the golden mile.
This much needed and well deserved break made sure that when we returned to class we were able to continue achieving high learning zones!
4d and 3/4F have been achieving in trios as they created google slide presentations about an endangered animal. Some of the animals they researched are: tigers, sea horses, black rhino, Galápagos penguins, panda and sea turtles.

All of the research they have collected will also be used to write their own non-chronological report about their chosen endangered animal. We look forward to sharing these with you!
We have had a number of children in 3C who have been working hard to achieve their balance ribbons by being role models across the year group! Well done! Keep it up 🙂

Thank you first of all for the wonderful contributions you made to the collection of cardboard boxes and materials! We were overwhelmed by the resources we had available.
This afternoon the children worked in their design teams to build a prototype, from their designs of the end room following the global goals, we had some very creative ideas. On Monday the children will be deepening their design skills by evaluating the prototype.

Over the last few days, year 3 and 4 have undertaken the final aspect of our project: Create and Communicate.

This week Countess Way has joined a national challenge which is challenging school regions across the country to take up a ‘One Million Minutes’ challenge. This challenge is trying to encourage a collective of one million minutes of reading from all children taking part. After day 1 Mr Gray’s Year 3/4 are on top but Year 2D are on the hunt in 5th place!
The challenge is very simple. We have one week for our class to read as many minutes as possible!
All reading counts – whether at home, on their own, with an adult or in school.
All you need to do is:
