Caldecotte Trip First Day Back!

By D Gray12th February 2016

Your children should have brought home a letter regarding the Caldecotte Trip on Monday 22nd February for their new project ‘Extreme Survival.’

This trip is in school hours so drop off and pick up is at the normal times.

As this is an outdoor trip, children should be dressed in clothes they don’t mind getting muddy, wellies or boots and warm, waterproof coats.

They should be provided with a packed lunch in a named, disposable bag.

Parent helpers

If you are able to help, could you please email danielgray@brooklandsfarm.milton-keynes.sch.uk with your mobile number and I’ll get back to you to confirm.

Thank you and have a lovely half term

Mr Gray

Year 3 and 4 have moved!

By D Gray9th February 2016

You may have noticed that we’ve moved classrooms! This decision was made to both stop the children from feeling isolated from the rest of the school and also to provide opportunities to allow our older children to be role models to KS1.

Children will enter and exit through the yellow double doors adjacent to the year 2 orange doors.

Shared Reading

By Mrs S Taylor29th January 2016

Every Thursday afternoon at 2.30 for the last two weeks there has been a very calm atmosphere at Countess Way. We have started a shared reading time across KS1 & 2 and it is a truly magical experience! All staff have offered a book to read and the children have signed up to the book they want to listen too. It has been lovely to see the excitement, high levels of engagement and children whisked off into the fictional worlds of some of our favourite authors.

This half term the books include:

The Borrowers

The Magic Finger

Danny the Campion of the World

The Magic Faraway Tree

Wind in the Willows

Fantastic Mr Fox

Here we are listening to the stories.

How does exercise make us feel?

By Mrs S Taylor21st January 2016

When I walked past the hall today at Countess Way, I couldn’t help but go in and see what was happening!

The room was a buzz of energy with the learning objective: How does exercise make us feel? The children were discussing the physical and emotional feelings related to exercise.

They also couldn’t wait to show me the challenging activities which had raised their heart rates!
