Year 3 have begun learning about the Ancient Greeks. As part of our Ignite day the children took part in a Greek dress up day and participated in a variety of activities, such as creating Greek temples, playing Greek games and learning the Greek myth Pandora’s Box to ignite our learning. 
In our maths lessons we have been exploring methods to solve multiplication problems. We had lots of fun creating arrays to work out our questions.
Homework for this week
This week Foundation 1 had their project Ignite with Lees Reptiles. The children got to see, and touch, a variety of reptiles including three different types of snakes and a Bosc lizard. We also saw two skunks and the children described the differences between the reptiles and the mammals.
Lee’s Reptiles will be at Kingston Tescos this Saturday (5th March) to raise money for the Henry Allen Trust so if you want to see, and hold, some of these amazing animals yourselves get yourself down there between 10am and 4pm.
Next week, Foundation 1 at Countess Way will be moving on to a new story within our project. We will by learning Dear Zoo and will be thinking about why some animals are not suitable as pets and why some are.

Yesterday, Year 3 ignited their new project by coming into school dressed as Victorians. They all looked wonderful and it really helped bring their project to life! Our Victorian visitor brought a number of artefacts in to show us, including chalks and blackboards, pens and ink, canes and chamber pots (which the children particularly enjoyed learning about!) The children in year 4 had an amazing ignite today as they left their normal selves behind and became Egyptian slaves, dancers, Pharaohs, craftsmen and actors today.
They had an amazing morning in which they were given the alter ego of an Egyptian to perform as for the day and took part in creating a variety of different objects that would have been placed in a Pharoah’s tomb. Amazing learning zones were achieved by all of the children in the morning as they were able to physically learn about the Egyptians.
