Today year 5 became scientists as they used their many skills, including being observant, resilient, resourceful, organised and teamwork, to work out how to separate different mixtures and solutions. After a lot of trial and error, they applied their prior knowledge to use the process of sieving, evaporating and filtering to separate the materials.
A lot of learning took place today with all the children growing in their knowledge and understanding as well as their scientific inquiry skills! Well done year 5!

Super congratulations for receiving your Gold Pin!
We are all very proud of you and are so lucky to have you in our Brooklands Farm family!
Keep on growing 🙂
Wow! This morning we awarded our first ‘Calm’ pin!

We have now completed our VW project.
The children have produced high level technical drawings of their revolutionary car designs and written amazing persuasive texts to promote their cars.
To conclude our project, the children have created short videos on iMovies.
In year 5 we have had a brilliant start to our Volkswagen project. The learning that has gone on has been brilliant and the children are asking some real high level questions. The collaborative work in the class has been a highlight and a pleasure to be a part of!
On Tuesday the excitement continued as the AA took over our playground! Here are a few photos of what they got up to!
