This week we have been learning the story “We’re going on a bear hunt.” We drew out the different scenes on to the playground with chalk before going on our own bear hunt. We went through the long wavy grass, the deep cold river, the thick oozy mud, the big dark forest, the swirling whirling snowstorm before reaching the narrow gloomy cave where the big bear lived! We had lots of fun and will be using what we learnt in our writing this week.
Year 4 children have created a video to communicate their understanding of the importance of friendship. At Brooklands Farm, we believe that friendship is a gift and we work hard to ensure our relationships are reciprocal and longstanding!
We are very proud to finally release own Open, Grow, Believe song! The song is written by the talented Mr Gray and performed by the teachers and children at Countess Way. We love it!
The children in Foundation 2 have had a great time pretending to be doctors this week in Brooklands Hospital!
We have been learning to take turns in our play, listen to others ideas, develop our vocabulary and even improve our fine motor skills as we tried to use all the tricky equipment.
On Friday we were very excited about beginning to create our new environment. We are going to be looking at our new core text ‘Emergency’ on Monday. We have had great fun learning about people who help us in our family and now we are going to learn about other people who help us in our community. We will begin by looking at the fire brigade and the police. Here is a little look at what we created!

Today 5A were shocked to find their classroom turned upside down. Our iPads, medals and target cards have gone missing and the children were very engaged in discussing who they thought may have done this. This led on to some great prove it writing, where we wrote our own newspaper reports on the incident.
