Fireworks!

By 8th November 2015

This week has been eventful with many late nights and lots of fireworks!

The children have had a wonderful time exploring fireworks by creating pictures and dances from firework shapes.

We have also really enjoyed role-playing a firework night bonfire, using drums to represent the bangs of the firework display.

Oohhh!! Ahhhh!!!

The Great Brooklands Bake Off

By 6th November 2015
Next Friday (13th Nov) is Children in Need. Last year we held an amazing cultural bake sale. Parents donated cakes that they baked from their home cultures to sell and we raised over £1, 500 for a good cause and even donated our left over cakes to Willen Hospice. This year we are aiming to beat this total!
We are asking children and parents to bake cakes at home and donate them in the morning of Friday 13th November to their classes. This can be anything from fairy cakes to Victoria sponge to baklava – We’ll eat it all!
Fen Street’s bake sale will be at 3:40pm in one classroom for each year group. Please can you queue outside the doors that you drop your children up at until we grant you access to the classrooms.
Countess Way’s bake sale will be at 3:25pm in the school hall. Please can you queue by the yellow doors in the playground until we grant you access to our bake sale. This gives us time to set up the bake sale!
Please come and buy as many cakes as you can. It is for a great cause and they are delicious!

Art and Ignite Day!

By admin6th November 2015

Year 5 have had a mesmerising week learning and turning their classrooms into the frozen planet. We have been really lucky to meet Lisa who has provided us with some insightful information all about our topic and have been enthralled by some clips from the David Attenborough series ‘Frozen Planet’. We have worked really well as a team and as individuals to design our areas for our classroom, making snowflakes, ice, animals and igloos!

I hope you have all had a great week and look forward to discovering more about frozen planet.
