A trip to Fen Street

By V Holloway19th November 2015

Yesterday the whole of Brooklands Farm Countess Way went to visit the rest of our Brooklands family at Fen Street to practise our Lantern Festival! All the staff were amazed and proud of every single child’s determination, resilience and enthusiasm as they walked between the two sites. It was also lovely to see the year 3’s and 4’s be such caring, considerate and thoughtful role models to the younger children.

The lantern festival rehearsal was very exciting and we can’t wait to share all our lanterns, songs and dances with you on Friday!

Fantastic home learning!

By 18th November 2015

Wow! 1a have seen some excellent home learning recently! We have had some superb Stuart houses and fact books come in for the Great Fire of London, along with some fantastic diary entries. I have really enjoyed looking at them all.

For Autumn, we have also seen some super pieces of artwork! I have been very impressed with all the different materials you have all used, from cotton wool to twigs and leaves on canvas!

Please feel free to take a look at the home learning currently on display. As a class we will be looking at our home learning in our check-in circles this week. Well done to everyone. I look forward to seeing more of your home learning soon.

Year 4 go back to nature!

By admin16th November 2015
We were lucky enough to take a small group of children on a den building and campfire experience this morning and what fun we had! The Year 4’s worked fantastically in teams, supporting each to make dens and collect fire wood for the campfire. Everyone had a turn at toasting marshmallows on the campfire – they were delicious!

Counting in Maths

By Mrs l Jenkins15th November 2015

Wow! What brilliant working together counting beyond 10 this week!

Lots of the children could tell me 1 more than a given number.

Next week we will be focussing on 1 less 😀

They loved this song,
1 superhero in a row,
1 superhero in a row,
Now let’s see what happens,
Shut, shut, shut your eyes,
Shut, shut, shut your eyes,
You are in for a big surprise!…
(Can chose more or less objects)
Now let’s see what happens…
(Discuss what happened)
See Mrs.Jenkins for the tune 😃
