Igniting our Milton Keynes Project

6th October 2015D Gray

Yesterday and today, we have been igniting our project and getting excited about continuing to deepen our learning about Milton Keynes.

We played Milton Keynes Monopoly, which helped children learn the names of different places and it tied in well with our addition and subtraction focus in maths.

Today we explored the map of Milton Keynes and went on a treasure hunt! One child, surprised by the sheer size of MK, asked whether it was a map of the world!

Many classes have been experiencing ‘Bubbleology’ as part of our Big Questions in Science.

As teachers we’ve seen incredibly high learning zones and wellbeing because we are providing lifelong learning experiences for the children.

Bubbleology

23rd September 2015D Gray

As part of our Fun Science Friday, year 3/4 took part in bubbleology. As you can see, the children were showing incredibly high learning zones and everyone left on a well being 5. Helping children to be excited about Science is so important to me and practical experiments help to create lifelong learning experiences.

Playtime

By D Gray17th September 2015

I’ve been so proud to see how well year 3 and 4 are playing at break and lunch! They’ve shown that they can be responsible leaders in the school and are looking out for the younger children by opening their hearts to them.

Here you can see them in ‘the cage’ at lunch honing their dodgeball skills!

Year 3/4 and the great raisin experiment!

By D Gray11th September 2015

Today we were scientists of the highest calibre! Children challenged themselves to grow their language when describing what happens when raisins are dropped into fizzy lemonade! We reasoned and justified our answers using our knowledge.

Keep up the good work year 3/4

Year 3 have had great fun today in Science learning about rocks. The children initiated some of their learning by deciding different ways to group their rocks and then we classified them by analysing the texture and appearance!

Creating a foundation classroom

By D Gray15th June 2015

As part of our Building Project, year 3 have had a fantastic time using their design and technology skills to help create a miniature classroom that adheres to our client’s needs. Children have reviewed and improved their designs and have evaluated which were the best materials to use. It’s so important to have a growth mindset and to keep improving our work so I am very proud of my children for doing so!

Here are some pictures of year 3 hard at work:

Year 3 visit the new school

By D Gray5th June 2015

Year 3 had a great time visiting our new Brooklands Farm Primary School on Countess Way. We enjoyed walking through our community and even had a little picnic on the new field! Year 3 asked some fantastic questions and have grown their understanding of how a building gets from the design stage to the finished stage.
