Hello 5A,

Sorry I haven’t been able to post earlier I’ve had trouble accessing the website.

Just wanted to say a big well done to all our individuals in 5A who have settled well and shown a positive start to the new school year.

Are reciprocal relationships are growing everyday and I’m really looking forward to sharing our learning journeys and becoming true individuals together.

We are all looking forward to seeing Year 2 in their beach wear for the ignite of our Lighthouse project. If the weather is bad please wear warm clothes over the top.

We have lots of fun activities prepared which includes a sensory experience in sand and water, making seagulls and lighthouses for our project area. We will also get to try some ice cream!

Looking forward to it! From Mr Morrison, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Shields

Year 2 settling well on Countess Way

By admin22nd September 2015

Welcome back to children joining us from Fenn Street and welcome to those who are new to our Brooklands family.

What a super start to the year! Year 2 are showing brilliant signs of calm. We have lots of high well-being. Well done 2D!

This half term our PE days are Thursday (indoor PE) and Friday (Outdoor). Please make sure children have suitable clothing such as a tracksuit ready for the colder weather including trainers or plimsolls. Please ensure that ALL items of clothing are named to minimise the risk of lost belongings.

Thank you for your support and please come and say hello so I can get to know you!

Mr C Morrison

Post on behalf of Miss Fowler

By admin22nd September 2015

Unfortunately, Miss Fowler has been having trouble posting to our website.

She says…

Hello 3A,

I am very pleased to say that we have all made a great start to Year 3. We have started our Year 3 learning journeys together and I am excited to see how they continue to develop.

Everyone has settled back in to routine and the expectations of the classroom extremely well and I am absolutely loving those ‘gotcha smiles’ you are bringing with you each day. I have already seen glimmers of balance shining through and I am looking forward to working together to develop this further.

There are some fantastic reciprocal relationships growing in the classroom and we are always trying to build our team work skills.
I hope you are as excited as I am to start our Rainforest project and to continue our learning journeys together.

Miss Fowler

Brooklands Farm – A ‘Centre of Excellence’ for Inclusion

By admin22nd September 2015
Today, Mr Williams and I visited Pall Mall, in London, to accept a special award called the ‘Inclusion Quality Mark’. Not only did we meet the criteria for the IQM, we have been identified as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for inclusion.
We are delighted that our commitment to providing an inclusive education for all pupils has been recognised by such a prestigious organisation. Mr Williams and I felt very proud to hear all the wonderful things that were said about Brooklands Farm during the ceremony and we are looking forward to supporting other schools to achieve their IQM in the future.

Open, grow, believe!

By admin15th September 2015

We’re now back in full swing at Brooklands Farm!  On Monday, Ms Low led our second whole-school assembly at Fen street. In true Brooklands Farm style, there was lots of singing and celebrating achievements. We were able to congratulate four children who had already received medals by 10am! We have had to order even more medals this year, as we have so many children receiving them. Children can be awarded the Heart, Star or Believe medal – ask your child if you’re not sure what they stand for!

These whole-school assemblies are weekly events at both Fen street and Countess Way. They are a very special time for all of the children and teachers to come together as a whole community. If only we had a big enough hall for everyone from both sites to come together!

Lots of learning in the Lower Juniors!

By admin7th September 2015
What a great start to the new school year! Children in Lower Key Stage 2 have been in great learning zones today and I have been very impressed at how quickly they have got back into the swing of learning!  In Mr Stott’s class, they tried out their new literacy books and I could already see improvements in their handwriting! Miss Fowler’s class were busy describing what makes a good learner and Miss Sheridan’s class were exploring their new peer marking resources. In every class there was a buzz of excitement. Bring on tomorrow!
