On Wednesday evening, Countess Way was host to a celebration of the talents that we have at Brooklands Farm.
Those children that had been receiving specific instrument tuition from our external providers this year had been invited to show off what they had learnt in front of a packed out hall. There was some beautiful and thoughtful pieces played by all the children with some playing violin, guitar, flute and clarinet. Some children had to be brave and had to play solo pieces and others had to work as a team and be experts with timing when playing in a group.
Well done to all who performed, to their teachers who have helped them grow their talents and a huge thank you to parents who pay for these opportunities and have to listen to our practice sessions.
WOW! What a fantastic week in year 2 for year 2! We have had a great week getting to know each other andĀ connecting.Ā Check out our learning zones as we haveĀ kept on learningĀ today. Our learning zones were so high that weĀ took noticeĀ of year 2 expectations so we haveĀ kept movingĀ by taking part in some special PE with Mr Morrison. We now mustĀ give to othersĀ this weekend and celebrate the story of successfully becoming year 2s. Well done year 2!

We are so proud
What an amazing first week in Year 6!
This week we have begun to read the story āHolesā by Louis Sacher.
For homework this week we would like the children to sketch/create a picture of Mr Sir from the description given in the story (see picture below)
Remember to use the information and clues given in the text to create your picture – you could even label your sketch with quotes and evidence to support what you have drawn.
Donāt forget to go onto hit the button (times table games) and also mathletics over the weekend as well.
Homework just for this week is due in on Thursday 13th July as some children are on residential on the Wednesday.
Have a lovely weekend.
I really cannot wait to meet all of the children and families of class 2D on Monday when we start transition! It really is one of the most exciting days of the year as we grow our relationships together!
If you haven’t signed up for a transition tea yet then please do! You really need to come and explore what it means to be a ‘Calm’ year 2 together as it’s important that this journey is done together! You will need to book one of these online through a link sent on Parent Pay.
Please also know that the door is always open, we can grow anything together and we need to believe that we can achieve anything. No question is too small or big (or too silly either). Please come and connect with me at anytime if you need to and I hope we can start this next step of the adventure with lots of excitement! Let us build one community together š
Looking forward to the last 3 weeks of the school year!
Mr Morrison
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of the amazing children and their families in Year 2D for all of your hard work this year and the amazing support you have given this year. You have all worked hard to achieve lots of amazing things this yearĀ and I shall definitely miss you all. However this doesn’t mean I will not see you around school and feel free to come and connect and say hello if you see me! Now off to the next step in your journey!
Remember your ‘Calm’ in year 3 as you add ‘Balance’ to your life skills and know that with Open, Grow, Believe you can achieve anything. Friendship is definitely the key and I want to thank you all for your friendship this year!
Look forward to seeing your ‘gotcha smiles’ on Monday with your new teams!
From Mr Morrison
Year 6 have been working incredibly hard this week to learn and perfect their singing and actions to their songs for Brookfest! They have performed two of these songs in front of the whole school!
For their homework this week we would like all of year 6 to learn the lyrics to our 3 songs:
What do I know – Ed Sheeran
Worlds Greatest – R Kelly
That Power – Will.I.Am and Justin Beiber
Have a lovely weekend!
