Year 6 Residential Update – Day 1

By Mrs S Taylor10th September 2018

We have had an amazing first day on residential!  We have been for a walk to Stanwick lakes where we saw a canal boat and helped open the lock. We loved playing on the play area and testing our bravery with the obstacle course. We have all enjoyed our first activity, which was either archery or climbing. Tonight we are going on a night walk and we can’t wait for our first nights sleep with our friends.

Hopefully photos to follow – we are having some problems uploading with the internet!

Countess Way Golden Tea

By Mrs S Taylor11th July 2016

A huge congratulations to the children who came to our golden tea for coping well with change and working at above expected last week.

These children used their ‘5 for change’ to be resilient learners during their first week of transition!

We enjoyed a biscuit and a drink in the staff room to celebrate their successes!

Countess Way NSPCC Fundraiser!

By Mrs S Taylor20th June 2016

A HUGE well done to all the children and families at Countess Way who ran on Friday for our NSPCC Fundraiser. The day was a massive success and I am so proud of the children’s resilience and belief in one another as they ran!

We have had a fantastic amount of sponsorship money in as well so thank you parents for all your support in organising this. Your children truly worked hard for every penny of that sponsorship!

I am delighted to announce that as a school we ran not one marathon… but 9!!! What an amazing achievement! Below are the ‘stats’ of what we ran so please celebrate these superb results with your families at home. There are a couple of Year3/4 who will be running this week due to being on a school trip so we will add their laps in too.

Year 2 talk about wellbeing and learning zones

By Mrs S Taylor6th June 2016

This morning we visited Holmwood & Ashbrook school to talk about wellbeing and learning zones with their teachers.

Our children spoke confidently to the teachers about why we check our wellbeing and learning zones. We showed them our wellbeing scales and explained what it meant to be on each number.

It was fantastic to hear our children talk with such passion about our school and they were true Brooklands Boys & Girls. We are looking forward to building more partnerships with other schools and sharing the Brooklands message.

Here we are talking to the teachers! We also got to have an explore of their school!
