3c have had a great week back at school. We have settled well and enjoyed our first week together.
Today we had a problem solving session to help our friend Billy Bob transport his egg . We developed skills in our talk trios and came up with our own creative solutions.
Year 3/4 created these amazing robots in just 1 hour with only a pile of boxes, some tape and their imagination!
This week we have had an exciting time learning about Ancient Greeks. Dan came and told us all about the Minotaur and the battles between Sparta and Athens.
It was a proud moment today as two children received their Balance pins. Millie and Vinnie have shown great listening skills and have shown they can achieve a learning zone 4 in class. Well done Millie and Vinnie!!
In year 3 we have had a fantastic two days back getting our classrooms ready for our project ‘Natural Disasters’. It had provoked a lot of interesting and engaging questions which we will try to answer before end of term.
We have been connecting our maths learning this week with some very tricky problems. We have been able to communicate our ideas and build our relationships to achieve some very high standards in addition and subtraction.
The class has shown great resilience and perseverence during our half term assessments. We have certainly grown our learning over the last six weeks.

3c have demonstrated incredibly high learning zones over the past few days! They have been working on a persuasive text to encourage others to wear a helmet when riding their bike, skateboard, scooter or skates. Every child has incorporated persuasive openers and technical language. When their text was complete, the children came up with actions to perform their work to each other. A huge well done to Alyssa and Ariella who performed a persuasive poem alongside a dance in a whole school assembly! 🙂
Year 3 made some jelly brains on Friday. We left them over the weekend, but we left them in the heat and exposed with no protection. Thus when we returned, the brains had gone mouldy.
We learnt that unless we look after our brains with learning, vitamins, protection and connections then they can become damaged.
