5A’s first individual pin!

I just wanted to say a big well done to Amelia for being the first member of our class to get the individual pin this year. Amelia has been an absolute pleasure to teach. She always listens to instructions, tries her best and helps others.

Year 5 Earth, Space and Beyond Ignite!

Year 5 yesterday had a great start to the new term and new year by learning all about space. We were lucky enough to experience the space dome where we were taken into a another world to witness earth, stars, planets and different galaxies in a way we had never seen them before. Unfortunately we couldn’t take any pictures inside but I’m sure the children will have lots to say about it!

We also spent time on the iPads and laptops researching different planets in our solar system and the atmospheres that surrounds our Earth to create posters and information to help each other learn more.

I hope everyone enjoyed it and is looking forward to discovering more about this amazing topic!

Golden Mile Winners!

Last week 5A were the golden mile winners! Everyone has had a go and tried their best over the whole term and last week our class ran the most miles in are lunch time out of the whole school!

I just wanted to say a huge congratulations to everyone in 5A who has been working hard on the golden mile challenge. Last week we ran the most out of every class in the whole school and have received a great trophy for all our hard work. Keep on running and lets keep the trophy!

Art and Ignite Day!

Year 5 have had a mesmerising week learning and turning their classrooms into the frozen planet. We have been really lucky to meet Lisa who has provided us with some insightful information all about our topic and have been enthralled by some clips from the David Attenborough series ‘Frozen Planet’. We have worked really well as a team and as individuals to design our areas for our classroom, making snowflakes, ice, animals and igloos!

Mysterious goings on in 5A

Today 5A were shocked to find their classroom turned upside down. Our iPads, medals and target cards have gone missing and the children were very engaged in discussing who they thought may have done this. This led on to some great prove it writing, where we wrote our own newspaper reports on the incident.

Ignite Day

Year 5 have started our new Titanic project and we had a fascinating ignite to start us off.

We were able to meet John who brought in some amazing memorabilia and artefacts from the ship. He provided us with a huge amount of brilliant information to use in our project work.

We then got to experience life on board the ship with music from the 1910’s. We also got to dress in third and first class clothing and make different stews depending on what class we were in, which I think everyone enjoyed!

I hope you all had a great day and are excited to continue our learning journey sailing on the Titanic!

A great start

Hello 5A,

Sorry I haven’t been able to post earlier I’ve had trouble accessing the website.

Just wanted to say a big well done to all our individuals in 5A who have settled well and shown a positive start to the new school year.

Are reciprocal relationships are growing everyday and I’m really looking forward to sharing our learning journeys and becoming true individuals together.
