On Thursday 11th April 2019, Brooklands Farm children who won a Sainsbury’s competition were invited to open the new local Brooklands Sainsbury’s store.
Over the last few days Fen Street and Countess Way have been buzzing with the annual parent and child lantern making workshops. This year has been the busiest yet, hosting two workshops a day on each site.
We have had a lot of creative fun making these colourful lanterns which, for the first time, are going home to bring the Brooklands sparkle to our children’s homes. This is the first step in the journey of the lantern festival being completely at the heart of our community.
Please, Please, Please make sure these beautiful creations are shining bight for all to see in windows, porches, balconies, gardens around Brooklands, on the 15th at 6pm…
Miss Low will be going out into the community searching for those shining lights of Brooklands at that time and will be filming what she finds!
If you would like to take photos of your work in place with in your homes please send to office@brooklandsfarm.milton-keynes.sch.uk
Huge thanks to all involved!
We are really pleased to announce the return of Start the Art, the early years and community program delivered by MKG and Brooklands arts team.
Hosted by Countess Way site the sessions offer opportunities for creative exploration for pre school members of the community and their parents and the Foundation stage children who attend Countess Way.
The sessions are carefully planned to access all aspects of sensory learning, allowing the children to experience a range high quality and sometimes unusual materials in a friendly child initiated environment.
Sessions for pre schoolers can be booked through Milton Keynes gallery website.

Meet Henry the Hedgehog…
I was lucky enough to meet him in the car park for the second time this term. He has been busy opening his relationships with the teachers in the mornings giving them a gotcha smile.
I would love to learn more about our new friend does anybody have any interesting facts about hedgehogs they would like to share with the rest of our Brooklands Farm community?
Miss Tate
It’s not long until the lantern festival at Brooklands Farm.

Just a few pictures showing the little bright sparks from last week’s Start the Art session.
We are really pleased to announce that we will be working in partnership with MK gallery to present Start the Art: Out & About, kindly funded by the MK Community Foundation.
Building upon MK Gallery’s successful weekly Start the Art parent and toddlers sessions MK gallery and Brooklands will bring together new communities within our area of Milton Keynes to explore the joys of art through a range of multisensory activities, including painting, drawing and mark-making for children 0-5. These sessions will take place at the new Countess Way campus, from 10-11 every Monday in term time until the end of February. Each session will cost £1 to help with the cost of materials.
Please spread the word and join us and other parents in the community to enjoy and explore creativity in a friendly environment.
As part of our partnership we are lucky enough to continue the programme on a Monday afternoon with our early years and Art specialist Miss Broome who will be working with all children from foundation to enjoy and explore multi-sensory materials and mark making. These sessions will take place in school time and there will be no charge.
