Thank you to all of 3C who on Friday took part in our Greek Ignite Day. A fabulous time was had by all.
We learnt about the story of the battles in Ancient Greece as well as how to make bracelets, pots and mosaics. The children enjoyed making all their items and I hope you have now heard all about them.
The year 3 team are ready to start learning all about the Greeks 🙂
Thank you to all the parent support we received as well. We could not have done it without you. A big thank you for costumes too.
Miss Ahlrichs
Well done Year 3! Today’s Ancient Greek ignite day was a huge success. Many thanks to Craig from History Off The Page for coming in to help us experience some aspects of Greek life!
It was a very proud day at Countess Way on Thursday the 6th of October as four teams came to play in a football tournament organised by Mr Spence. It was history in the making for more than one reason as for the first time the grass field at Countess Way was being used for a sporting event. Secondly it was the first time that Countess Way had ever had a team in a competition. Although the results didn’t go the way of the home side, it was a momentous occasion and even more so in the last match. It was the big ‘derby’ when the clash of Countess Way v Fen Street came together.
We are incredibly proud of the year 3 and 4 children who played with an open mindset to something new, who grew their understanding of what it means to play in a team together and they had to have plenty of belief in themselves and their team-mates to believe they could achieve!
Below is a photo of the history makers and the two Brooklands teams!
Well done!
3C have had a day full of high learning zones and we ended very excited for our ignite day. I am looking forward to seeing you all in your Greek clothes tomorrow at Countess Way at 8.20am.
I am off now to prepare my costume!
See you tomorrow,
Miss Ahlrichs
Thank you first of all for the wonderful contributions you made to the collection of cardboard boxes and materials! We were overwhelmed by the resources we had available.
This afternoon the children worked in their design teams to build a prototype, from their designs of the end room following the global goals, we had some very creative ideas. On Monday the children will be deepening their design skills by evaluating the prototype.
Thanks again and well done 3c!

Hi Everyone!
Big apologies to all the children in 3b who did not receive their homework today!
I have put it here on the website and will also give out a paper copy on Monday, therefore will expect that some children may not be able to complete it by next Thursday!
Apologies again and I hope you all have a great weekend!
Miss Russell
Our transition project this year explored the topic of ‘Inspirations and Aspirations’.
In class 3b the children produced some excellent pieces of homework, setting themselves targets at school and outside of school, as well as recognising the resilience and determination needed to reach our goals. The children thought about their aspirations for now and the future, and shared these with their class. Here are two children from 3b who produced a video for their homework on this topic!
We hope you enjoy!

Thank you all for coming to curriculum tea.
It was a great opportunity to start our partnership together in year 3 and look at how we can remain balanced.
I was very impressed with all the Roald Dahl inspired treats we had and I know myself and the children enjoyed them a lot!
Thank you again. From Miss Ahlrichs and 3C
