Thank you to all the parents, children and staff that came to the cross country on Saturday morning. The children’s attitudes were amazing and they all made everybody very proud.
Wow!
Today has just been incredible!
After our introduction to our project, the children got to explore a range of cars from the VW group. The children gathered notes as they were going around and focused on the features of each car. Learning zones were very high and children had huge gotcha smiles on their faces! A fantastic way to ignite our project.
The children will be outside the front of school over the next two days, to carry out some market research, by asking parents ‘What would make the perfect Brooklands car?’
Thank you Mike, Anthony, Jonathan and Joe for making the day such a success.
Year 6 are currently sitting in a VW presentation with Mike, Anthony and Jonathan.
The children have been asked to design ‘The Brooklands Car’, by carrying out market research over the next couple of days. The children will be interviewing parents before school to see exactly what the families at Brooklands Farm need.
After the children have interpreted their data they will be designing their car, by creating a 3d image on paper and on digital image software. When they are happy with their design they will be creating their car out of clay to present to VW on Friday.
The children have been asking Mike, Anthony and Jonathan some very challenging questions to help grow their knowledge and understanding
We can’t wait to get started on our challenge!
Years 2-6 are currently sitting in an assembly presented by Laura and Lara, from VW.
A range of cars are currently arriving in the car park as I type.
The atmosphere in school is amazing! We are all looking forward to working together on our exciting whole school project.
All of the children are especially looking forward to working with the VW staff and welcome them to our school.

On Monday we have an exciting opportunity to view a range of vehicles from the VW group.
Children will be outside for at least an hour and a half looking at the vehicles and understanding the specification of each car as part of their learning for next week. We will be going out even if it rains!
Please ensure that your child has a waterproof coat to wear on Monday and is wearing their normal school shoes and uniforms. If your child would like to bring an umbrella, then please do so. Please note: that these umbrellas should only be used on Monday to view the cars not for break or lunch time. The umbrellas will be stored in the PE boxes after these sessions.
Thank you for your support
The Year 6 Team
Well done to our new Brooklands boy, who has earned his Open, Grow, Believe gold pin!
You have clearly shown that you know how to open your heart, ears, eyes and mind: grow your learning, talents, skills and relationships: and believe in yourself and others!
Thank you for his parents for coming and joining us to celebrate his achievement.
We are very proud of you in 6b! Well done!

Year 4 today shared their incredible learning with their parents as they invited them into their living tomb. The children first had the problem of trying to entice their parents into the tomb and began by reading their persuasions to them. Some parents seemed hard to win over but the children managed to wow them with their vocabulary and their ideas.

After this, the parents were able to look at some of the Egyptian artefacts that the children had created across the project and were able to meet two embalmers giving a demonstration of mummification as one of our children became a real life mummy.

The tomb and persuasions were well received and the children created a fantastic show, explaining all of their knowledge that they had learnt over the last 4 and a half weeks.
Today, we had a lovely class celebration assembly.
Congratulations to the winners of our star learner and coping with change awards.
I had the pleasure of awarding the first 6C red, strong and powerful badge, to an individual who has shown that they are really becoming a very strong and powerful learner.
