Yesterday, a group of Year 2 children took part in an athletics festival. The children worked extremely hard on a sunny afternoon and loved the different running, jumping and throwing activities. Well done!
On Thursday 29th November a mixed team of Year 5 and 6 children travelled to Stantonbury to take part in an inter school basketball competition. They played a total of 6 games, all lasting 7 minutes. Of these 6 games, they won 5 in succession only narrowly losing the last game by 1 point. As a result, their team finished top and they were declared winners of the competition!
All of the children who took part showed an outstanding display of teamwork and individual talent in what was a fantastic evening of team sports. In addition, Brooklands Farm received extra praise from all the referees helping out in the event, saying how well they all played together. A massive congratulations to all of these children who took part.
Well done to our cross country team who competed at Stantonbury Campus on Saturday 5th November!
It was a very proud day at Countess Way on Thursday the 6th of October as four teams came to play in a football tournament organised by Mr Spence. It was history in the making for more than one reason as for the first time the grass field at Countess Way was being used for a sporting event. Secondly it was the first time that Countess Way had ever had a team in a competition. Although the results didn’t go the way of the home side, it was a momentous occasion and even more so in the last match. It was the big ‘derby’ when the clash of Countess Way v Fen Street came together.
We are incredibly proud of the year 3 and 4 children who played with an open mindset to something new, who grew their understanding of what it means to play in a team together and they had to have plenty of belief in themselves and their team-mates to believe they could achieve!
Below is a photo of the history makers and the two Brooklands teams!
Well done!
Over the weekend some of our children took part in the Athletics finals, winning medals for Brooklands Farm for the first time. The children have done themselves and Brooklands Farm proud, well done!!!
