We’ve had a fantastic day of robots today. The children conducted research into different robots and how they’re useful, used LEGO to try and build their own robot or robotic structure and immersed themselves in the programming app Scratch! Involvement levels were fantastically high and the quality of work produced was fantastic.
Well done to all those who made a fantastic robot at home! They definitely help our immersive environment!
Today’s science lesson was child initiated where the class were asked to find different ways to sort a variety of rocks and soils. They showed great learning zones and used fantastic scientific language when they sorted by roughness, hardness and ‘shinyness’!
This week’s Golden Tea winners have shown how to grow their learning and what it means to be in a high learning zone. We love celebrating children’s talents and achievements at Brooklands Farm. We are very proud of this week’s winners!
We also celebrated children’s work with our walk of fame where children can show off their growing and learning! Here are this week’s winners!
We’re still celebrating children joining our team and it is so good to see them taking on the Brooklands Farm ethos of Open, Grow, Believe.

Mr. Gray
Before half term we were celebrating the success of children from across the school. The children chosen by their class teacher got to stand proudly in assembly as their achievements were celebrated. They also got to attend a ‘Golden Tea’ which allowed them the privilege of time out of class for a drink and a biscuit with Mrs Taylor.
We also celebrated the attendance winners for the week which was Mr Gray’s class. Year 3/4 also won ‘Lionel the lining up lion’, who visits the class that lines up and travels around the school the quietest and smartest, following a successful transition into the ground floor with KS1. They really have been brilliant ambassadors!
A huge congratulations to the children who received their balanced pin yesterday. You’re continuing to be brilliant role models around the school.
We’ve been having great fun using ‘Big Maths Beat That’ to help practise our arithmetic.

Year 3 and 4 have been investigating which materials create the most and the least friction! They’ve made brilliant predictions and have used fair testing to find out the results.
