I was so impressed that the children created their own mini-classroom to help spell their tricky words. I had said initially that they should just choose a word and test their partner but some children thought it would be fun to play teacher!
Learning zones were very high and they practised their spellings using the names of the letters!
Well done 1c!
Happy Half Term everyone!
Here is the Home Learning for this week.
Please also find attached sound mats for all the different phases of phonics to help with your writing tasks.
Mr Gray’s class were lucky enough to have a visit from a real life pilot today! One of the dad’s can fly a light aircraft so they were kind enough to come in and show some pictures and videos of him in action! The children even got to wear his head set!
This was an amazing real life learning opportunity for our Up, Up and Away project!
Sorry the photos are a bit late! Year 1 had such an amazing time on the ignite day. They loved dressing up and they learnt a lot about different ways to get Up, Up and Away!
A massive well done to all the children that took part in Sports Day. We saw everyone having fun, trying their best and supporting each other. Thank you to all the staff that helped to make this event a success and for all the parents that came to cheer on their children!
The results were very close! Well done to the green team for claiming first place! You all believed in yourself and worked as a team to succeed!
Then an extra well done for blue team for being the best team at opening their hearts to cheer and encourage their team mates. Throughout the practices and the official sports day, we saw red team show lots of resilience and grow their skills in each activity. Yellow team were also very good at believing in each other and cheering on their team.
Well done and thank you to everyone that took part!
The Year One team would like to thank everyone involved in helping the children achieve their best in the Phonics Screening Check. Every child has worked their hardest and were all so keen to do their ‘special phonics job’, we are extremely proud of everyone! To celebrate Year One had a party this afternoon, they chose to either get creative, dance, watch a film or play on the bikes outside. They also enjoyed the delicious food that was kindly brought in by the parents.
Thank you once again, we couldn’t have done it without your support!
The Year One team
