Thank you Mr Gray!

By 28th September 2015

Mr Gray has given Brooklands Farm Primary School the best gift in the world….

Whilst we have all been busy learning in our classrooms, Mr Gray has been busy composing and playing the piano. The result is our very own School song!

Last Friday Mr Gray and Miss Tate spent a day with Mr Brewer our visiting music producer. We had lots of fun recording the children’s vocals even the teachers wanted to have a go! We can’t wait for you to hear it at curriculum tea!

Under the Sea….

By 27th September 2015

We are getting to know our new classes; Jellyfish, Manta Ray and Starfish.

Of course we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to learn about the sea creatures that our classes are named after so this week we have created some beautiful under the sea pictures and models.

Learning Open, Grow and Believe

By 27th September 2015

The children in Foundation 2 have been busy learning the rules of our school.

We have been learning our school ethos by creating our own Open, Grow and Believe medals using salt dough. We loved using different tools to create the correct shapes and Miss Jasper had to wait 3 hours by the oven for them to cook and turn hard!

After the shapes were cooked we decorated them with as much glitter as we could get our hands on because the medals are very special!

I think you will agree that we did a fantastic job!

1e are on the move!

By V Holloway26th September 2015

This week in year 1 we started our lanyard learning and were moving round the year 1 unit to complete our learning. We were very determined to achieve high learning zones despite all the change and challenges we faced (including choosing our own learning). Here are some photos of us choosing our own activities and resources while maintaining high learning zones:

Well done for being so determined year 1!

In literacy we have been reading ‘Rosie’s Walk’ and we are very excited to go on our on walk to Brooklands Farm Fen Street and to the park on Monday!

Please remember to bring a packed lunch and drink. Hopefully the weather will be lovely!

Wonderful learning in the Year One unit

By J Francis25th September 2015

Well done 1c for being so determined this week!

This week we started moving around the Year One unit for our learning and you faced many challenges along the way – choosing your learning, finding the resources you need in a different room, re-setting the room for the next class and of course sharing your learning to see what you could green and gold.

We think you all managed it brilliantly, well done!

Have a lovely weekend 🙂

1c Went For a Walk

By J Francis25th September 2015
This week we have been learning the story ‘Rosie’s Walk.’  We went on our own walk to the park and talked about what we saw around us.  We are going to use this as inspiration for writing next week when we create our own versions of the story!

Thank you again to all of the parents who helped us.  Here are some pictures of us having lots of fun!
