On Monday year 1 at Countess Way ignited their All About Me project with a walk to Brooklands Farm Fen Street and then to the park! On our journey we looked at the things we saw around us, we saw houses, trees, lots of cars and lorries and builders working on building sites!

As we are reading Rosie’s Walk in Literacy,on our walk from Fen Street to the park we discussed what we could go around, over and past. We continued to explore these directions and more when playing in the park!

We’ve had a brilliant time revising word classes today in SPAG!
Year 2 showing careful observation drawing skills as they create their first drafts of their lighthouses.

Countess Way has been host to this weeks Take One Picture,we were lucky enough to be joined by some parents and children to create more beautiful art telling the story of Brooklands Farm to send to the National Gallery competition.

Here are the year 5’s exploring pitch through the use of a variety of tuned percussion.
Thank you again to all of the parents who helped us.
Wow what fun we had today!! We had the opportunity to take part in a Roman banquet, where we got to see many of the meals the Romans once indulged in! We thought some of them sounded nice, but others such as calf brain custard didn’t take our fancy as much! We looked closely at what would be on a Roman banquet table! I wonder if the children remember why the feather was on the table!
After this we met a Roman soldier who took us on as recruits in the army. We learnt that we would be fed and have somewhere to live but we didn’t like the sound of the punishments! It was interesting to see all the different weapons and what they were used for!
After some lovely lunch in the glorious sunshine and surroundings of Bradwell Abbey we explored our creative skills and made some mosaics.
There is a small selection of photos below! Thanks for a wonderful day year 4! 🙂
