Wow! Lots of you have achieved your’Determined’ pins now. I’m so proud of them all.
Here are two children who were amongst the first to achieve the pin in the year 1.
Keep up the fantastic work 1f!!
Today Year 3 at Countess Way put all of their learning and clay making skills together to produce some beautiful Greek works of art. Using all of the knowledge they have learnt they planned and made their clay Greek inspired artworks.
We made a huge weaving frame that we used to make a picture of Jupiter in space!
We created our own huge rockets.
We decided that we needed to build our rocket and surround it with paper. We discussed the shapes that we needed; a cylinder and a cone.
Everyone worked as a team to paint our rocket and add windows for the astronauts.
It looked great! Well done everyone!
Well done for raising lots of money for Children in Need!
You all looked fabulous!
The alien left us a recipe for alien soup so we decided that it would be nice to send our own recipe for human soup.
We had a go at cooking our recipe of carrots, potato and squash. We needed to wash, peel, cut and blend the vegetables to make our soup.
It was delicious!
We investigated the alien footprints in school. We had a go at measuring the footprints and then our own feet. We found out that the alien’s feet were bigger than the children but smaller than Miss Jasper’s feet.
We have been very busy across Year One, working on our new text ‘You Choose’ by Pippa Goodhart and Nick Sharratt in Literacy. The book questions the children on topics such as where they’d like to visit and what they’d like to eat. Here are 1b being question Kings and Queens, looking closely at what makes a question and the big questions we would love to ask!
In computing we have been working on programming algorithms, here are the children following their own instructions on how to make a jam sandwich.
