Year 2 musicians!

By l hearn27th February 2016

Every Friday since September we have had a whole class music session.  We have learnt lots of different songs and played so many different instruments! We have learnt how to keep a steady beat as well as lots of different sound patterns. The best part is when we all get to play together but it can get very loud!

Ask us at home and we may be able to sing you a tune!

Class 2B, Spring 1 Week 2 Weekly update!

By l hearn15th January 2016

This week Class 2B have really grown their knowledge of nocturnal animals! Did you know that owls have 14 neck bones? Interestingly, owls have different colour eyes depending on whether they are nocturnal or diurnal. These are just a few of the exciting facts we have used to make a report in literacy.

In maths, we have been learning about number and place value. We have been comparing and sequencing numbers and then we connected our knowledge of number to answering questions about different owl’s wingspan.

Next week we will be using our hedgehog home learning to create a report on hedgehogs.

Keep up the great learning 2B!

By l hearn8th January 2016

We are so impressed with all the fantastic habitats that have been brought into school this week! The habitats show the high learning zones and new learning that happened over Christmas. Thank you for your continued support!

Owl visit

By l hearn8th January 2016

Today we had a very special visit from Sarah and her owls. We were able to use our knowledge of owls to answer questions and we found out many more interesting facts. Did you know that not all owls are nocturnal?  Sarah told us this is a myth as only a quarter of owls are nocturnal, the rest are diurnal!

Ask us when we get home about the other interesting facts we learnt!

By l hearn7th January 2016

Year 2 have become bat experts! Yesterday we read lots of different facts and watched video clips to find out as much as possible about bats! Did you know that bats aren’t actually blind? They can see almost as well as humans! We were very shocked by this fact!
