Igniting our Natural Disaster project

By 5th November 2015

We have all had a very exciting day today where we have watch clips of natural disasters and taken part in small experiments.

We used oreo cookies to learn about the different type of plate boundaries. The learning zones were extremely high and the excitement in the room was amazing.

With the help of two fabulous assistants, we have created a video to remind ourselves of the vocabulary we have learnt.

The whole year group showed an enormous amount of balance today when we were sharing our learning about earthquakes, volcanoes and tornadoes.

We really look forward to the rest of our learning journey with this project.

By 5th November 2015

The children are really enjoying their new learning journey in French. They have been learning how to greet each other,  to count and to say the name the different members of their family.

Here are two of their fabulous and catchy songs they sing with Madame Leech.

Learning about Martin Luther King

By 23rd October 2015

This week years 3 and 4 have been learning all about Martin Luther King as part of our work on Black History Month. All of the children have been shocked about what went on in America in the 1950s and 1960s and are very pleased to live in such an accepting, inclusive, multi-cultural society.

Year 3’s reactions to their rainforest environment!

By admin5th October 2015

As you can see, teachers have been busy this morning putting the finishing touches to the Year 3’s new rainforest learning environment! The children’s reactions were priceless – with my favourite quote being ‘I’ve never seen a classroom like this before!!’ See the speech bubble below for further quotes from the children.

The Year 3’s have pointed out that the Rainforest needs more flowers and animals so they will be continuing to create these this morning!

Curriculum Tea

By 2nd October 2015

It was fantastic to see so many parents yesterday for the first Curriculum Tea. The idea that everyone in the community has a voice to express any issues they may have helping their children is very important to us and hope everyone found the session informative and helpful.

Post on behalf of Miss Fowler

By admin22nd September 2015

Unfortunately, Miss Fowler has been having trouble posting to our website.

She says…

Hello 3A,

I am very pleased to say that we have all made a great start to Year 3. We have started our Year 3 learning journeys together and I am excited to see how they continue to develop.

Everyone has settled back in to routine and the expectations of the classroom extremely well and I am absolutely loving those ‘gotcha smiles’ you are bringing with you each day. I have already seen glimmers of balance shining through and I am looking forward to working together to develop this further.

There are some fantastic reciprocal relationships growing in the classroom and we are always trying to build our team work skills.
I hope you are as excited as I am to start our Rainforest project and to continue our learning journeys together.
